The Nelson/Denny diagnostic test was used to conduct pretests at the beginning of the Fall 2009 semester on a majority of the English 162 and English 163 sections. Towards the end of the semester, a different form of the same test was used to conduct post-tests across the same sections of the two courses.
The results were statistically analyzed and interpreted using the t-test method and descriptive data analysis.
